Common Brushing Missteps

Posted .

Everyone wants to have—and keep— a beautiful, and we all understand that there are a few things we have to do to maintain one. We all understand that it’s important to go to a dentist regularly and to brush and floss every day. Unfortunately, many people don’t know how to their teeth as effectively as possible? To help you maintain your radiant smile, we’re happy to offer you three common mistakes.

  1. When you brush, don’t use long horizontal strokes. Circular and short an-and-down strokes tend to work better. Make sure you clean all of your teeth, including your molars.
  2. Do you start with the same tooth every time you brush? If you do, you could be giving too little attention to some teeth. To ensure that each tooth has adequate attention, please start brushing in a different area every time.
  3. When you brush your teeth, think about what you’ve eaten recently. If you’ve had something acidic—either food or drink—we recommend waiting at least 30 minutes before you brush your teeth. Acids can weaken your enamel, making your toothbrush more likely to cause damage.
